The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) plans to complete the comprehensive two-dimensional geophysical studies on the land area Naftalan-Gedek-Boz before mid-October, a source in SOCAR said.
"Field works are underway, and they will be completed by September," the source said.
He said works, in particular the processing and interpretation of data, will be completed by March of next year.
The main goal of the work is to study the geological structure of the area.
There are 59 oil and gas fields in Azerbaijan. About 8 are offshore, others - onshore.
