Iran, Turkey agree to increase trade turnover to $30 billion

The trade turnover between Turkey and Iran will reach $30 billion, Iranian First Vice President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi said during a meeting with Turkish President Abdullah Gul today, the Moj news agency reported.

The trade turnover between Turkey and Iran will reach $30 billion, Iranian First Vice President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi said during a meeting with Turkish President Abdullah Gul today, the Moj news agency reported.

"Iran and Turkey play an important role in achieving peace, stability, security and settling regional conflicts," Rahimi said. "The historical background contributes to the strengthening of ties between Iran and Turkey. There are no obstacles preventing the progress and development of our relations. Iran is interested in deepening political and economic ties with Turkey and intends to further strengthen and develop relations between the two countries."

Gul expressed his satisfaction with the current state of Iran-Turkey relations, while praising his country's cooperation with Iran and their combined efforts to strengthen regional security.
