Robert Dudley, BP's new Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will be introduced to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, BP reported today. Dudley and his predecessor Tony Hayward arrived in Baku yesterday and their visit, which is planned as part of BP CEO's handover process, will last two days.
During that meeting Mr Dudley will brief the President on the current status and plans for BP-operated projects in this country. Mr Dudley will cover BP's continued excellent delivery as the operator of Azerbaijan's major oil and gas production and transportation projects, and will reiterate BP's long-term commitment to enhancing and expanding its cooperation with Azerbaijan and the Caspian region.
Mr Dudley is also set to meet with SOCAR leadership to discuss further plans for cooperation.
Mr Dudley took over from Mr Hayward as CEO on Oct.1.
