Ashgabat hosted the intergovernmental negotiations of Afghanistan and Turkmenistan on the project of construction of Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline, designed to carry the well-being of the peoples of each country - its participants," national television channel Altyn Asyr reported.
This issue was raised during a meeting between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Afghan representatives - Finance Minister Hazrat Omar Zahilvala, Minister of Mining Vahidulloy Shahrani and Minister of Energy and Water Resources Mohammad Ismail Khan.
The Afghan side expressed its "full support" to initiatives voiced by Turkmenistan at the 65th session of the UN General Assembly and related to global energy security, socio-economic revival of Afghanistan, peace and stability in the region.
The sides exchanged views on the possibilities of further cooperation in trade, oil, transport and electricity
