The Heydar Aliyev Baku Deep Water Jacket Plant will complete the construction of the third block of "Oil Rocks-2585" platform soon, a source in SOCAR said.

"The construction of the last block will be completed within 20 days. Two blocks, built by the plant earlier, have already been transported to the sea for installation," a source said.

The fourth block of the platform is being built on the construction and assembly site of the Neftegazstroy Trust, situated in Zikh.

"The construction has not been completed yet," a source said.

A platform with a height of 64 meters will be installed at a depth of 46 meters along 500 meters of the five-unit Oil Rocks -1887 Platform. Twelve wells will be drilled. It is planned to extract 580 tons of oil daily from these wells.

New platforms are necessary to maintain stable oil production at Oil Rocks, whose reserves are well developed. Oil Rocks is the first offshore oilfield where Azerbaijan has begun hydrocarbon production.

The residual recoverable oil and gas reserves at Oil Rocks exceed 182 million tons. Geological reserves amount to 365 million tons. Oil Rocks will be developed until 2035, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev said.
