The European Commission will present a final version of a draft on the priority areas of energy infrastructure for 2020 and 2030 Nov.17 in Brussels, Nabucco Gas Pipeline Consortium's official website reports.

This report, to be presented in November, and earlier circulated preliminary vision of the European Commission on this issue is a warning for the energy sector, as well as the designation of plans to prevent a possible "shock" that will follow after announcing a need to invest one billion euros in the next 10 years only in infrastructure development.

According to the report, the European Commission will define seven priority projects that meet Europe's interests in energy and climate change. Projects include gas supply from the Caspian basin, Central Asia and the Middle East, the Baltic connecting gas pipeline and North-South gas pipeline in the Central-Eastern Europe and South-Eastern Europe.

According to the European media outlets, earlier the EU Energy Commissioner Guenther Oettinger presented a draft of the plan. The plan, along with new routes of gas supplies to Europe also reflected the creation and modernization of existing power infrastructure, the development of alternative and renewable energy sources.

These proposals will eventually become part of the EU new energy security and infrastructure tool. It will not be a legislative package, rather, it will function as a means of funding priorities and ensuring a high level of political support for certain projects.
