Transportation of Azerbaijani light oil via Turkey for January-September

About 214 million barrels of oil were transported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) Pipeline via Turkey in January- September 2010 compared to 214.5 million barrels in January- September 2009, a statement posted on the official website of the Botas Turkish state pipeline company said.

About 214 million barrels of oil were transported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) Pipeline via Turkey in January- September 2010 compared to 214.5 million barrels in January- September 2009, a statement posted on the official website of the Botas Turkish state pipeline company said.

In September, over 25 million barrels of oil were transported via the BTC through Turkey compared to about 24.1 million barrels in September of 2009.

About 285.5 million barrels of oil were transported via the BTC through Turkey in 2009 compared to 264.1 million in 2008. In 2007, the figure exceeded 210 million barrels.

The BТС's total length is 1.768 kilometers including a 443-kilometer section running via Azerbaijan, a 249-kilometer section traversing Georgia and a 1.076-kilometer section passing through Turkey. The pipeline's construction began in April 2003. First oil was marked May 18, 2005.

BTC Co. shareholders include: BP (30.1 percent); AzBTC (25 percent); Chevron (8.90 percent); Statoil Hydro (8.71 percent); ТРАО (6.53 percent); Eni (5 percent); Total (5 percent); Itochu (3.40 percent); Inpex (2.50 percent); ConocoPhillips (2.50 percent) and Amerada Hess (2.36 percent).

Some 96.35 million barrels of oil were transported in January- September via an Iraq-Turkey pipeline through Turkey. In September the figure was roughly 15.1 million barrels compared to 10 million in August. Last year, the pipeline transported 167.6 million barrels compared to 135.5 million barrels in 2008.

About 12.44 million barrels of oil were transported via the Ceyhan-Kirikkale Pipeline in January-September through Turkey. In September, the figure was about 2.12 million barrels, compared to about 2.33 million barrels in August. About 20.2 million barrels of oil were transported via Ceyhan-Kirikkale in 2009 compared to 21.4 million barrels in 2008.

About 8.4 million barrels of oil were transported in January-September through the Batman-Dordyol Pipeline. In September, the figure was 732,000 barrels, compared to 986,000 in August. Last year, the pipeline transported 12.2 million barrels of oil compared to about 11.1 million barrels in 2008.
