U.S. ExxonMobil opens representative office in Turkmenistan

Noting the high interest of the world’s business circles in establishing mutually beneficial cooperation with Turkmenistan, ExxonMobil Upstream Ventures President Robert S. Franklin announced about opening the company’s representative office in Ashgabat at a meeting with the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov.

Noting the high interest of the world's business circles in establishing mutually beneficial cooperation with Turkmenistan, ExxonMobil Upstream Ventures President Robert S. Franklin announced about opening the company's representative office in Ashgabat at a meeting with the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov.

According to the national TV channel Altyn Asir, the businessman described the "Turkmen market as very promising," assuring that "this estimate includes not only availability of rich hydrocarbon resources, the reserves of which are confirmed by independent experts, but also the presence of all the conditions for foreign businesses in the country, including a favorable investment climate, political stability and a favorable geographical position of Turkmenistan."

Berdimuhamedov, in his turn, "expressed confidence in the great potential of partnership with this company" and noted Turkmenistan's interest in establishing long-term cooperation with companies with best practices and latest technologies.

"ExxonMobil's great experience can be successfully involved in projects of geological exploration, development of hydrocarbon fields in the Turkmen shelf of the Caspian Sea, in oil refining, in training of professional staff for the oil and gas industry," he said.
