The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) plans in 2013 to bring the level of gasification in all regions of Azerbaijan to 95 percent compared to 85 percent at the moment, a source in SOCAR said.
He said according to data at the end of September 2010, the country has registered about 1.3 million subscribers of gas distribution networks. This year, as a result of the works on laying new gas mains and main pipelines number of subscribers increased to 53,000.
"The country takes all necessary measures to increase the gasification level in the country. In particular, works are underway on construction of new pipelines," the source said.
He said this year SOCAR has laid gas pipelines of different significance in the length of three kilometers.
SOCAR's Production Association Azerigas is engaged in issues of natural gas distribution and sale in Azerbaijan.
