Iran increases electricity generation

Electricity production amounted to over 156,800 gigawatt-hours in Iran, or 8.7 percent more than during the same period last year, the Irib news agency reported.

Electricity production amounted to over 156,800 gigawatt-hours in Iran, or 8.7 percent more than during the same period last year, the Irib news agency reported.

Over 149,720 gigawatt-hours of the total electricity production were generated by thermal power plants, and 7.081 gigawatt-hours by hydropower plants.

Since early this year, the amount of electricity supplied to consumers is 158.85 gigawatt-hours, or 9.08 percent more than during the same period last year.
