Iran increases electricity exchange with neighboring countries

Iran’s electricity exports from the beginning of the year (year starts in Iran from March 21) amounted to 3,782,000 gigawatt-hours so far, which is four percent more than the same period of last year, Iranian Energy Ministry said.

Iran's electricity exports from the beginning of the year (year starts in Iran from March 21) amounted to 3,782,000 gigawatt-hours so far, which is four percent more than the same period of last year, Iranian Energy Ministry said.

Electricity imports from the beginning of the year to date amounted to 2.048 gigawatt-hours, which is 48.6 percent more compared to the same period of last year.

Iran exchanges electricity with neighboring countries such as Pakistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Iraq and Afghanistan.
