The Poti-Senaki gas pipeline is being constructed in western Georgia. The pipeline will supply natural gas to the Poti free industrial zone (FIZ).

U.S. Ambassador to Georgia John Bass and Georgian Energy Minister Alexander Khetaguri will become familiar with the construction works on Nov. 17, the U.S. Embassy in Georgia told Trend.

The United States has provided $115 million to construct the pipeline under a long-term project to develop the Georgian economy. Georgia has provided a total of $1 billion for the project.

The construction work is carried out by the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation. After joining the gas pipeline to the main pipeline, 25,000 subscribers will receive gas alongside the Poti FIZ.

The ambassador is expected to meet with Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Governor Zaze Gorozia and other individuals employed at the construction site.
