Iran held talks on the possibility of signing contracts with several companies for exploration in the Iranian sector of the Caspian Sea. Details and results of the talks will be published later, the deputy oil minister, CEO of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), Ahmed Galebani, said Friday.

According to him, the publication of primary data on the current situation could affect the negotiation process. Galebani noted that "it needs to expect good news on the oil sector of the northern part of Iran."

At present, Iran is continuing exploration work on the platform "Amir Kabir" in the Caspian Sea.

Now the possibility is considered to establish a base for oil storage in the Mazandaran province on the Caspian Sea coast.
