The Sate Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and British BP, which is a party to major energy projects in Azerbaijan, have agreed to establish a working group to deal with the issue on reducing the burning of associated gas, as well as their emission into the atmosphere, the SOCAR Environment Management reported on Monday.
The issue was decided at the meeting between SOCAR Vice-President Soltan Aliyev and BP Vice-President Michael Barnes.
The sides agreed that a working group of experts from SOCAR and BP would have to conduct joint research of technical issues, exchange information and determine targets for reducing emissions.
