SOCAR has started drilling of a new oil well in the shallow part of the Guneshli field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, SOCAR said. The largest amount of SOCAR's oil and gas fall to shallow part of Guneshli.
According to the report, drilling is carried out from the "Gunashli-14" platform by the "Bail Limani Sea Prospecting Drilling Administration of SOCAR.
The project depth of the well is 2,950 meters. The estimated daily debit is 150 tons.
The Guneshli field is on the balance of the 28 May Oil and Gas Production Union.
The shallow part of the Guneshli field is developed by SOCAR at its own expense, and the deep part within the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block in conjunction with a consortium of foreign companies.
