Iran to extract 15 million barrels of oil from Caspian Sea

Iran predicts to extract 15 million barrels of oil and 11 trillion cubic feet of gas from the Caspian Sea, Fars News Agency reported quoting Managing Director of Khazar Exploration and production co (KEPCO) Ali Osooli as saying.
"Iran launched construction of Amir Kabir platform on the Caspian Sea to extract oil and plans to expand h ydrocarbon exploration operations," he said.
According to Osooli, a total of 46 hy drocarbon reserveswerediscovered in the Caspian Sea area in the depth of 350 to 800 meters, however further drilling in depth of 1,000 meters requires a floating platform.
