Iran to construct new petrochemical port in Assalouyeh

Iran will construct new petrochemical port in Assalouyeh to increase export capacity and shipment of petrochemical projects, Naftnews reported quoting Managing Director of Terminals and Tanks Petrochemical Co Mohammad Sharif Shahriari as saying.

"The second Phase of Pars Petrochemical port complex will be constructed and launch of this development plan will increase export of petrochemical products including Urea and Ammonia," he said.

Iran expects to increase petrochemical products to 100 million ton in line with the Fifth Socio-Economic Development Plan (2010-2015) and increase the level of exports.

A total of 13 waterfronts were operated in the first Phase of Pars Petrochemical port complex while the operating process of 3 new waterfront posts is also completed.

Pars Petrochemical port has 15 waterfront posts with 35 million ton capacity in year and considers as one of the biggest ports in the country which exports petrochemical products.
