The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) will commission a high-output production well on the March 8 Field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea soon, a source in SOCAR said.
He said that drilling was completed (the estimated depth is 5,800 meters). It is being prepared for perforation.
"The well will be developed soon," a source said. "It may be put into operation next week."
Expected daily output is about 350,000 cubic meters of gas and 40 tons of condensate. At present, more than 400,000 cubic meters of gas are produced daily from the field.
The drilling operations are carried out to maintain production levels at old fields.
