Iran to launch three petrol refineries

Iran is to launch three new petro oil refineries this solaryear(began March 20, 2011), Mehr News Agency reported quoting Managing Director of the National Iranian Oil Product Distribution Company Hamidreza Seyed Jafari as saying.

"Iran will launch three petrochemical refineries to increase the profits ofits current refineries. The company plans to construct new petro-refinery units at Imam Khomeini, Abadan, and Isfahan refineries in the nearfuture", he said.

The new petro refineries will use innovative technologies to improve products.They will produce propylene while the country will reduce furnace fueloil production.

The National Iranian Oil Product Distribution Company plans to reducefurnace fuel oil production from 74 million liters per day to 68million liters per day to improve other products.

Iran's oil refinery capacity is currently more than 1.7 millionbarrels per day. By end of the Fifth Development Plan (2010-2015)the volume is planned to increase to 3.3 million barrels per day.

It's predicted that with a $13.5 billion investment, the country increasesgasoline production to 70 million liters and to more than 100 millionliters in gas oil.
