Uzbekistan, Tashkent, Aug. 8 / Trend D. Azizov /

A synthetic liquid fuels production plant (GTL) is planned to be built on the basis of the Shurtan gas chemical complex in 2017, a source in "Uzbekneftegaz" told Trend.

The interlocutor said that the construction period has been changed due to technical reasons.

"Uzbekneftegaz", Petronas and Sasol signed the constituent documents in November 2009 to establish "Uzbekistan GTL" joint venture with an initial authorized capital of $ 30 million to build a synthetic liquid fuels production plant (GTL).

The preliminary project cost is $ 2.739 billion. It is assumed that the plant will process 3.5 billion cubic meters of gas and produce 672,000 tons of diesel oil, 278,000 tons of jet fuel, 361,000 tons of naphtha and 63,000 tons of liquefied gas.

French company Technip prepares the feasibility study.

The project will be financed from the own funds of Petronas, Sasol and "Uzbekneftegaz", as well as a consortium of banks and financial institutions.
