SOFAZ releases data on incomes from oil and gas projects

Of the total funds received in 2010 by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) from the sale of hydrocarbons accounted for Azerbaijan's share, about $15.6 million (217.8 million barrels) accounted for project on development of block of Azeri- Chirag-Guneshli offshore fields in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, SOFAZ said in a report on last year. Total revenues of SOFAZ from hydrocarbon sales last year amounted to $15.77 billion (about 12.66 billion manat).

Of the total funds received by the State Oil Fund, $137 million accounted for the Shah Deniz gas field development project.

In addition to these projects, in 2010, SOFAZ received funds from the sale of hydrocarbons from oil fields Surakhani ($ 30 million), Binagadi-Girmaki-Chahnaglar ($13.1 million), Kursengi-Garabagly ($7.2 million).

Last year, the State Oil Fund assets totaled about $22.8 billion compared to $14.9 billion in early 2010. State Oil Fund was established in 1999 and then its assets amounted to $271 million.
