Azerbaijan, Baku, Sept.20 / Trend, E. Ismayilov /

Roughly 70 percent of Ukrainian main oil pipelines are filled with Azeri Light oil, produced on the block of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli oil and gas fields in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, a senior SOCAR representative said on Tuesday.

He said it enables SOCAR to consider possibility of oil supply to oil refineries of Eastern Europe, particularly to the Czech Republic.

"Destination of oil supply is not a goal for us. If it is economically profitable and rational, we supply and sell it. We have no limits on the market in principle," SOCAR representative said.
About 1.5 million tons of Azerbaijani oil will be transported via the Odessa-Brody oil pipeline and one of the Druzhba branches to a Czech oil refinery in Kralupy in 2012, Ukrtransnafta CEO Aleksandr Lazorko said earlier.

Lazorko said Ukrtransnafta together with the SOCAR prepares for a trial supply of Azeri light to the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia. The volume of test delivery, which is planned in the near future, will be about 300,000 tons.

SOCAR negotiates with the Czech and Slovak parties to supply Azerbaijani oil to the markets of these countries, SOCAR's deputy vice-president Vitaly Beylarbayov said earlier.
