Iran will install three more offshore drilling rigs in phases of South Pars while 18 new offshore drilling rigs start to work by early March, Pananews reported quoting Managing Director of Pars Gas Oil Company Mussa Souri as saying.

"A new drilling rig will be installed in phases 22 to 24 of joint gas field in upcoming days," he said.

He noted Iran currently continues offshore drilling in Phases 9,10,12,13,15,16 of South Pars.

The joint South Pars oil and gas field is shared by Iran and Qatar; it is among the world's largest. Iran is expected to produce up to $130 billion in revenues annually.

The Iranian share, which was divided into 28 phases, has about 14 trillion cubic meters of gas (about 8 percent of total world reserves) and more than 18 billion barrels of liquefied natural gas resources.
