Uzbekenergo to complete energy project by late 2011

Uzbekenergo will complete a project worth $34.2 million to build external power supply facilities for the Zarmitan gold-mining complex in the Samarkand region by late this year, a source in the company told Trend on Tuesday.

The project envisages the construction of a 220-kV substation "Ishtykhan" and 110-kV substation "Mining" with inset high-voltage transmission lines of 86.4 km long.

At present, mounting of technological equipment is underway in the substations, pylons installation and wiring work is underway on transmission lines.

The project is implemented at the own expense of Uzbekenergo and is aimed at s uninterrupted power supply of Zarmitan gold-mining complex.
