Baku to host conference on industrial safety in oil and gas sphere

Nov. 21-22, Baku will host the First International Caspian and Black Sea Conference "Industrial safety in fuel and energy complexes: oil spills in sea and on land - problems and solutions", the company-organizer of the event said on Tuesday.

The organizer of the conference is the Confidence Capital Company with the official support of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The conference will focus on coordination of joint response, assessment and management of risks in the implementation of offshore projects, operation of the infrastructure of transportation and storage, introduction of new technologies for spill response, remediation of soil.

The event will bring together representatives of major oil companies, the leading producers of technology from Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Turkey, Norway, France, Belgium and other countries.

It is planned that the conference will be an international platform for exchange of experience.
Turkish companies display a great interest in the conference. In particular, the delegation of Botas - Turkey's state pipeline company, headed by the President and Board Chairman Ibrahim Pala, has confirmed their participation.

During the conference, reports will be delivered by the head of the environmental department of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) Azer Aliyev, head of environmental protection laboratory of Lukoil-Engineering - VolgogradNIPImorneft, Yuri Bezrodny, managing director of maritime safety and operation of the fleet of JSC NHIC KazMorTransFlot, Yevgeni Getsevich and others.
