Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Nov. 15 / Trend H. Hasanov /

Turkmenistan is focusing on creating multi-vector routes of delivering energy resources to the world markets, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov told delegates at the International Oil and Gas Exhibition Conference and Exhibition held in Ashgabat on Tuesday.

The Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan-2011 exhibition opened in Ashgabat today. The two-day conference will start tomorrow, Nov. 16. It focuses on the development of Turkmenistan's oil and gas industry for the past 20 years of its independence and the prospects for international cooperation.

"We consistently operate to create multi-vector routes to deliver energy resources to the world markets," the message said. "The commissioning of the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline is a concrete step to develop the global energy cooperation. The gas pipeline began forming a new, multi-variant pipeline system in Central Asia."

The Turkmen leader pays attention to the accelerated volumes of Turkmen gas export to Iran.

This contributes to the commissioning of the second pipeline Dauletabad-Sarakhs-Khangiran, laid to a neighboring country.

President Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the construction project of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline is significant. It will ensure long-term supplies of natural fuel to big countries of Central Asia and give a powerful impetus to the socio-economic development of the region.

At present, Turkmenistan develops a number of big deposits - Garabil, Gurrukbil, on the right bank of Amudarya, in the Central Karakum and others. South Yoloten-Osman, Minara and Yashlar are among them. The natural gas reserves on these deposits hit 26 trillion 200 billion cubic meters.

Turkmen specialists together with the companies from China, the United Arab Emirates and Republic of Korea are engaged in the development.

The Turkmen President said that these actions will play an important role in discussing joint activity with the companies. These companies are interested in cooperation while conducting prospecting oil and gas fields and search for mineral resources.

The matter rests in further expanding the mutually beneficial cooperation between the Turkmen side and foreign investors, mutual exchange of experience between scientists and specialists.

"I am confident that these important actions will also intensify measures on exploration and extraction of Turkmenistan's hydrocarbon resources onshore and offshore and to develop the oil, gas and chemical industry, the message said.
