Canadian Oil Exploration Production Company Tethys Petroleum has completed testing of the AKD06 (Doris appraisal) well in Kazakhstan with the rate of over 4,300 barrels of oil per day, the company reported.

"This is a very successful appraisal of the Dosis discovery and once again shows the good flow potential of the Cretaceous sandstone reservoir" the report quotes Thethys Chief Operating Officer Greham Wallas as saying.

According to the report, the flow was restricted for safety reasons but data indicates that the absolute open flow potential is in excess of 6,000 bopd.

Tethys is focused on oil and gas exploration and production activities in Central Asia with activities currently in the Republics of Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. This highly prolific oil and gas area is rapidly developing and Tethys believes that significant potential exists in both exploration and in discovered deposits.
