The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) plans to complete repair of the block and preparation of modules within repair of "Gunashli-7" platform in the shallow part of the "Guneshli" in the Azerbaijani sector of Caspian Sea by mid-2012, a source in SOCAR told Trend.
He said Heydar Aliyev Baku Deep Water Jacket Factory deals with repair and preparation of 12 modules of the platform.
"By mid-2012 the plant should complete the work," the source said.
The "Guneshli" field is of great importance for the country's oil and gas industry. SOCAR is constantly working to increase the field's productivity.
The "Guneshli" field is on the balance of "28 May" Oil and Gas Production Department.
The shallow part of the Guneshli field is developed by SOCAR at its own expense, and the deep part within the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block jointly with a consortium of foreign companies.
