The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has today commissioned a gas station in the Georgian Urbnisi village near the Gori town, SOCAR said on Monday.

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has today commissioned a gas station in the Georgian Urbnisi village near the Gori town, SOCAR said on Monday.

The opening ceremony was attended by SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Georgia, Azer Huseyn, director of SOCAR representative office in Georgia Mahir Mammadov, as well as executive power and public members.

Thus, the number of gas stations under SOCAR brand in Georgia reached 81.

SOCAR Georgia Petroleum is engaged in sales of Azerbaijani oil products in Georgia. It started its activity in 2006 and is SOCAR Energy Georgia's 100-percent owned subsidiary.

SOCAR has a number of gas stations in Azerbaijan. Gas stations are also gradually opening under the SOCAR brand in Ukraine. SOCAR is currently working to establish a network of gas stations in Romania.
