Turkey ups electric power generation

Electric power generation increased to 211.207 GW / h in Turkey in 2010 compared to 194.813 GW / h in 2009, the report on the activity of the Turkish energy sector, published on the website of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of the country on Monday said.

According to the information, import of electric power to the country increased to 1.143 GW / h compared to 812 GW / h in 2009.

Turkey imported electric power most of all from Turkmenistan - 684.6 GW / h, Georgia - 303.2 GW / h and Azerbaijan - 156 GW / h.

In 2010, Turkey exported 1.917.5 GW / h of electric power compared to 1.546 GW / h in 2009.

The largest volumes of export fell to Iraq -1.288.1 GW / h, Syria - 629.1 GW / h and Azerbaijan - 0.3 GW / h.

Electric power consumption increased to 210.434.0 GW / h in Turkey in 2010 compared to 194.079 GW / h in 2009.
