SOCAR produces some 6 million tons of oil

In January-October 2011, oil and production units of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) produced around 43.9 million barrels (some 6 million tons) of oil from offshore and onshore fields of Azerbaijan against around 44.9 million barrels (more than 6.1 million tons) of oil in the respective period of last year, the SOCAR told Trend on Monday.

Following the results of 2010, SOCAR's oil and gas production units produced some 53.36 million barrels (7.28 million tons) of oil versus about 53.52 million barrels (7.3 million tons) of oil in 2009.

In January-October 2011, a total of around 10.36 million barrels were produced under SOCAR's joint projects with foreign companies, including more than 1.9 million barrels as production by joint ventures, some 7.63 million barrels as production from oilfields Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli, and around 783,600 barrels as condensate production from gas field Shah Deniz.

In January-October 2011, the SOCAR produced more than 6.08 billion cubic meters of gas versus 6.37 billion cubic meters in the respective period of last year.
In the observed period, SOCAR's oil and gas production units produced 5.68 billion cubic meters of gas. Onshore-operating joint ventures and companies passed 180.4 million cubic meters of gas to the SOCAR.
In 2010, the SOCAR produced some 7.6 billion cubic meters of gas against 7.33 billion cubic meters in 2009.
In January-October 2011, the Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) produced more than 4.9 billion cubic meters of bypass gas for the SOCAR versus 2.81 billion cubic meters last January-October.
