Kyrgyzstan negotiates about electric power export to Uzbekistan

Kyrgyzstan negotiates to export electric power to Uzbekistan, Kyrgyz Energy Minister Askarbek Shadiev said during a working meeting with Kyrgyz First Deputy Prime Minister Omurbek Babanov, the Kyrgyz government said on Tuesday.

"At present, the negotiations are underway with the Uzbek side in terms of delivery, volume and price of exported electric power," Shadiev said. The negotiating group will arrive in Uzbekistan to discuss these issues."

At present, Kyrgyzstan exports electric power to Kazakhstan and China. Thus, as of the first 9 months of this year, exports of electric power from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan amounted to 2.125 billion kW / h, or almost 2 times more than the same period of 2010. Electric power exports to China amounted to 864,000 thousand kW / h (it increased by 65,000 kW / h).
