Solar batteries producing plant, which under construction in Sumgait, will function by-mid January, 2012, deputy head of Azerbaijan State Agency on alternative and renewable sources of energy Jamil Melikov told Trend on Wednesday.

The plant will function in test mode by the end of this month, he noted.

The plant will operate on one-shift instead of the planned three shifts at the beginning, but later work at full capacity by autumn 2012.

"The work at full capacity will depend on demand for products," Melikov noted.

The factory will produce energy-efficient LED-lumps along with solar cell panels.

The plant is constructed through financial support of the private sector.

Azgüntex company is constructing the plant with the assistance of the Agency on alternative sources of energy.

The plant will have equipment of German production. Prices for finished commodity correspond to the cast of Chinese production.

Annual manufacturing capacity will be more than 100,000 units photoelectric modules with general capacity of 25 megawatt, as well as about million units energy-efficient lamps.
