Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 18 / Trend F.Milad/

Gasoline consumption in the fourth week of the ninth calendar month of Azar (to end December 21) stood at 399.1 million liters, showing 11.7 million liters decrease compared to the week before.

On the daily basis, some 57 million liters was consumed in the mentioned seven-day period of time, the Shana news agency reported.

The National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company's managing director, Jalil Salari, said on October 20 that since the enforcement of the subsidy reform plan in the country in December 2010, the consumption of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), gasoline, kerosene, and diesel has cut between 4 and 19 percent.

Iranian gasoline imports have slumped by as much as 95 percent over the last four years, according to official government data, as rising refinery capacity and lower fuel subsidies help neutralize western sanctions aimed at starving Tehran of fuel.
