Kazakhstan intends to expand the resource base by searching for new deep oil fields, Aset Isekeshev, deputy prime minister, minister of industry and new technologies of Kazakhstan said at a government meeting.
"We prepared units for exploration and evaluation work which will begin in 2012," he said. Prospecting work will be conducted with the use of high technology.
Isekeshev said new jobs will be created as a result of this work.
