SOCAR oil terminal laboratory is accredited for calibration operations

The National Accreditation Centre of Georgia gave the Metrology Laboratory of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR)'s Kulevi oil terminal the authority to conduct operations to calibrate its equipment to measure the pressure and volume of electricity, SOCAR said on Tuesday.

The laboratory was established to improve efficiency in the use of controlling and measuring equipment and to a uniform system of measurement. The laboratory is equipped to carry out calibration activities.

'Work is being carried out to expand the stock of equipment and types of measurements', a statement said.

The terminal at Kulevi was put into operation in summer 2008. Its total capacity is 10 million tons of oil per year, including three million tons of oil, three million tons of diesel fuel and four million tons of fuel oil. The tank farm's total volume is 320,000 cubic metres with the possibility of increasing to 380,000 cubic metres.
