Tender announced for construction of gas pipeline section in West Georgia

The Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation (GOGC) has announced a tender to build a 29-km section of the Abasha-Senaki gas pipeline in West Georgia.

All those companies interested are invited to participate in the tender, GOGC told Trend on Wednesday.

Applicants must confirm their compliance with the qualification requirements, which includes availability of working capital at 50 per cent of the contract price and the appropriate technical and human resources to conduct the construction.

Applicants must have experience in constructing a 10-km gas pipeline with a diameter of 300mm, or larger over the past five years. The date of construction completion is nine months after signing the contract.

Proposals are being accepted from 11:00am, March 5 to 18.00pm on March 9.
The 29-kilometre long Abasha-Senaki gas pipeline is the first stage of Kutaisi-Senaki main gas pipeline. Construction of the 80-kilometre long Kutaisi-Senaki gas pipeline is being carried out as part of the USAID project 'Power and Gas Infrastructure Program (PGI) '.

USAID has been implementing this programme in Georgia since 2010. PGI assists the Government of Georgia in undertaking strategic interventions in gas and power infrastructures aimed at enhancing the energy security of the country.

GOGC has worked with USAID over the 30-month programme that saw the 30-kilometre Senaki-Poti gas pipeline being built.
