Azerbaijan, Baku, March 3 / Trend E.Ismayilov /

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is developing its own anti-corruption policy, a high-ranking representative of SOCAR told Trend on Saturday.

He said a set of documents in connection with this is being prepared.

"The work in this area is already underway, and a contract with an international accounting firm Ernst & Young was signed under the elaboration of a set of documents", said the representative of SOCAR.

The company's representative didn't specify exact timing of the completion of the preparation of anti-corruption policy.

SOCAR includes Azneft, which produces oil and gas onshore and offshore, the Azerkimya industrial association, a chemical enterprise, and Azerigaz industrial association, a gas distributor.

SOCAR is the only producer of oil products in the country (it owns two refineries) and also owns gas filling stations in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine and Romania. Last year SOCAR purchased a network of gas filling stations in Switzerland. SOCAR is co-owner of the largest Turkish petrochemical complex Petkim.
