The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) extracted 7.5 million tons of oil in January-February compared to about eight million tons during the similar period of 2011, SOCAR's official website reported on Friday.
According to the report, in February the country extracted about 3.56 million tons compared to over 3.9 million tons in January.
Some 1.37 million tons of the total oil volume produced in the country in January-February accounted for went to SOCAR, compared to over 1.16 million tons in January-February 2011. In February, SOCAR extracted 660,940 tons of oil compared to 706,640 tons in January.
In total last year the country extracted more than 45.6 million tons compared to 50.8 million tons in 2010. Of the total oil extracted last year, 8.4 million tons were extracted compared to 8.46 million tons in 2010.
