Turkey’s electricity demand to up fourfold in 20 years

Turkey's minimum demand for electricity in the next 20 years will increase up to 735 billion kilowatt / hours compared to 220 billion kilowatt / hours in January 2012, the Energy Market Regulatory Authority of Turkey said on Wednesday in its report.

The maximum demand for electricity within the next 20 years will be about 886 billion kilowatt / hours. It is therefore expected that Turkey's electricity demand within 20 years will increase fourfold.

Given the minimal increase in demand for electricity within the next 20 years planned investments for the sector amounts to $210-$250 billion.
