Iran's electricity industry to become completely self-sufficient
Azerbaijan, Baku, April 8 / Trend M. Moezzi /
Ninety-six percent of the equipment needed by Iran's electricity industry is provided through domestic production, the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA) quoted a deputy energy minister as saying on Sunday.
This year (Iran's solar year ended on March 19), Iran's Energy Ministry will focus on supporting private contractors and domestic manufacturers so all of the parts needed by the electricity industry are made in Iran and the remaining four percent of imported parts are eliminated, said Deputy Energy Minister Mohammad Behzad.
The country's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, issued the slogan "Domestic production, support for Iranian investments and jobs" for the new Iranian year.
