Czech company to construct wind farm in Georgia

Czech company Wind Energy Invest will construct Paravani (Samtskhe-Javakheti, Southern Georgia) wind farm with a minimum installed capacity of 50 megawatt, Georgian Energy and Natural Resources Ministry told Trend on Tuesday.

According to the report, the construction of wind farm worth $100.80 million is scheduled to be launched on May 1, 2013.

According to the ministry, the construction of the wind farm, which will generate 170 million kilowatt hours of electricity per year, will be completed by November 2014.

Today 40 projects on the construction of hydropower plants, the total minimum installed capacity of which is 1,872 megawatt and average annual generation - 7,350 million kilowatt hours of electricity, are implemented in Georgia.

Investments in implementation of the projects will presumably reach $3 billion.
