Kazakhstan considerably ups oil exports in January-February

Kazakhstan increased crude oil and gas condensate export by 24.3 percent in January-February 2012 compared to the same period of 2011, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported with the reference to the Kazakh Statistics Agency. Crude oil and condensate export hit 12.576 million tons during the reporting period.

In monetary terms, Kazakhstan's crude oil and gas condensate export amounted to $10.433 billion (62.7 percent more compared to the same period of 2011).

Kazakhstan's oil products export increased by 3.4 times in January-February 2012 compared to January-February 2011. The country exported 736,700 tons of oil products worth $426.8 million during this period (increased by 4 times in monetary terms). Meanwhile, Kazakhstan's oil products import increased by 55.2 percent up to 392,800 tons in this period. In monetary terms, oil products import increased by 39.9 percent up to $275.5 million.

According to the Statistics Agency, Kazakhstan exported 4.042 billion cubic meters of natural gas (a 42.5-percent increase) worth $377.8 million (a 34.4-percent increase in monetary terms) during the reporting period. Meanwhile, Kazakhstan's natural gas import decreased by 24.4 percent to 776.2 million cubic meters in January-February. In monetary terms, natural gas import decreased by 27.5 percent to $54.1 million.

In January-February 2012, Kazakhstan produced 11.183 million tones of crude oil (a 0.3-percent decrease compared to the same period of 2011), 2.138 million tones of gas condensate (a 0.7-percent decrease) and 6.916 billion cubic meters of natural gas (a 3.5-percent increase).
