Petkim to increase production in 2012

The Turkish Petkim petrochemical complex plans to produce 3 million tons this year, Director General Hayati Ozturk told Trend on Friday.

He said capacities of the holding's enterprises this year are planned to be used by 95 per cent, which will allow to achieve goals set in terms of production.

"Last year, during an using capacities by 88 per cent holding produced about 2.9 million tons of petrochemical products," said Ozturk.

Earlier, on March 30 Socar Turkey Enerji A.Ş and SOCAR International DMCC OGG acquired a10.32-percent stake in Petkim, increasing its share to 61.32 percent. 38.67 percent are in free circulation in the Istanbul Stock Exchange.

Petkim Petrokimya Holding manufactures plastic packaging, fabric, PVC, detergents, being the only Turkish producer of such products, a quarter of which is exported.
