All the necessary data on the central districts of the capital where gas consumption is at its highest are included in the database of the gas supply facility of Baku, a source in the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) told Trend on Monday.
The SOCAR, which includes the Azerigas Production Association deals with gas transportation and sale in Azerbaijan.
"Work remains to enter data on a number of districts of Baku with low density settlement," the source said.
Work to create the database is planned to be completed by late 2012. In its initial stage it will cover Baku and Absheron Peninsula, but in future it is planned to extend coverage across the whole country.
The database will allow to obtain complete information about gas pipelines, stations, and valves that will facilitate a more rapid response to various problems, accidents and leaks.
