Azerbaijan, Baku, April 29 /Trend M. Moezzi/

Private companies will export 20 percent of Iran's oil, the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported.

It is the first time private companies will be participating in exporting Iranian oil.

Until now, the private petroleum sector has only been involved in crude oil swaps with Iran's neighbours, said Hasan Khosrojerdi, head of the Iranian Oil, Gas & Petrochemical Products Exporters' Association (OPEX).

The swap program has been stopped by the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) although OPEX is asking for its resumption.

Iran's government agreed to OPEX's suggestion for exporting crude oil about three weeks ago.
