Kazakh President discusses cooperation with Chinese Petroleum Corporation

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev within his official visit to China met with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) Jiang Zemin, the presidential press-service reported.

Within the meeting Nursultan Nazarbayev and Jiang Zemin discussed issues of mutual cooperation between Kazakhstan and CNPC in various fields.

Nursultan Nazarbayev and Jiang Zemin stressed the necessity to develop relationships and defined key areas for further collaboration.

CNPC is China's largest oil and gas producer and supplier, as well as one of the world's major oilfield service providers and a globally reputed contractor in engineering construction. The company works in almost 70 countries. In Kazakhstan CNPC has been working since 1997. At present, the corporation realizes in Kazakhstan such operations as oil and gas investment and engineering services on the oil and gas fields.
