Minister: Some 1,210 km of new gas pipelines laid in Baku during year

During the first year of the state program on socio-economic development for Baku, over 22,000 subscribers were provided with gas, Azerbaijani Economic Development Minister Shahin Mustafayev said at a conference on the results of the first year of the implementation of the program.
He said that 7,940 subscribers were provided with gas in the Absheron region under the program.
Also, according to the minister, during the reporting period 1,210 kilometers of new pipelines were laid, 120 000 meters of domestic gas were installed or replaced by new ones.
Referring improvement of electricity supply of the population, Mustafayev said that over the past year 1,520 kilometers of cables and 200 kilometers of power lines were laid. At 330 kilometers of power lines repair work was carried out.
During the reporting period work to improve heat supply of settlements continued. In particular, over the past year 122 education and health facilities were provided with electricity supply, six boilers that provide heat to more than 150 residential buildings and public facilities were renovated.
