U.S. decreases oil imports from Azerbaijan

In January-April, the United States imported 4.44 million barrels of oil from Azerbaijan compared to 5.05 million barrels in the same period of 2011, the U.S. State Energy Information Agency (EIA) reported on Friday.

In January-April, the United States imported 4.44 million barrels of oil from Azerbaijan compared to 5.05 million barrels in the same period of 2011, the U.S. State Energy Information Agency (EIA) reported on Friday.

The U.S. imported about 1.32 million barrels from Azerbaijan in April compared to 2.46 million barrels in April 2011.

The U.S. imported 13.05 million barrels of oil from Azerbaijan in 2011 compared to about 20.22 million barrels in 2010.

The U.S. imported 27.52 million barrels of oil from Azerbaijan in 2009. The U.S. imported more than 26.8 million barrels of oil from Azerbaijan in 2008. The U.S imported more than 20.6 million barrels of oil from Azerbaijan in 2007. The figure was 9.7 million barrels of oil in 2006.

The Baku - Tbilisi - Ceyhan oil pipeline is the main export route. It delivers oil to the Turkish port of Ceyhan. Azerbaijani oil is transported via this route.

Azeri Light oil is exported from the Georgian port of Supsa. It is delivered via the Baku - Supsa pipeline.

Oil is also exported from the Georgian Black Sea port of Batumi. It is delivered by railway from Baku and from the port of Novorossiysk. It is delivered via the Baku - Novorossiysk pipeline.
