Azerbaijan is interested in the export of investments. In particular, the construction of a refinery in Latin America may be one of the elements, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Mexico, accredited in Colombia, Ilgar Mukhtarov, told media on Monday.
"Azerbaijan is interested in investments while making investments and receiving," he added. "This is one of the elements. We can build a refinery not only in Colombia but in other Latin American countries."
He added that Azerbaijan has rich experience in the oil sector. Colombia is interested in studying Azerbaijan's experience in the field of oil and gas transportation and sale to neighboring countries through the pipeline system.
Azerbaijan's proven gas reserves are estimated at about 2.6 trillion cubic meters, oil reserves - 2 billion tons. The country has a diversified oil and gas transportation system, in particular, it transports crude oil via three and gas via four pipelines.
